Sentient To Split into Two Separate Companies

Sentient Jet Holdings announced yesterday that it will be splitting into two separate companies. Chairman Greg Campbell will retain control of aircraft management and charter operations, technical services and the FBO business, with Jake Cartwright serving as president and CEO of the management and charter division, which will be rebranded. Cartwright previously served as president and CEO of TAG Aviation USA. Macquarie Global Opportunities Partners, a subsidiary of Australian investment firm Macquarie Group, will acquire the jet membership, charter brokerage and fuel management businesses. Former Sentient Jet Holdings CEO Steve Hankin will lead the new Macquarie-owned company, which will retain the Sentient name. Following the split, the two companies will continue to “work together in a number of areas.” Jet members will still have access to charter flights, and the fuel business will provide programs for the management and charter division. The deal is expected to close later this month.
