Bombardier adds two centers to service stable

Bombardier announced it has added two more service facilities for Challenger and Global business jets, bringing its total number of aircraft-support facilities around the world to 44. Of those, seven are OEM service centers and 37 are authorized service or line-maintenance facilities.

Becoming the first Bombardier line-maintenance facility on the Indian subcontinent, Air Works India Engineering at Mumbai International Airport has more than 55 years’ experience serving India’s general aviation operators. The 3,065-square-meter (33,000 square foot) facility began accepting Bombardier aircraft in September.

Air Four, at Milan, Italy’s Linate Airport, already supports Learjets and now acts as an authorized service facility for Challenger and Global jets. Formerly Eurojet Italia, Air Four offers 2,137 square meters (23,000 square meters) of hangar space. It has worked on Learjets since 1998 and began accepting Bombardier wide-body business jets in October.

“In our drive to provide Bombardier operators with an industry-leading level of support, we are aggressively pursuing the expansion of our maintenance and service capacity in key locations across the globe,” said Jame Hoblyn, senior vice-president, customer experience, Bombardier Business Aircraft.

Bombardier rated below the other business aircraft manufacturers in AIN’s 2007 Product Support Survey of business aircraft operators.
