Nit Subramaniam has joined BBA Aviation Engine Repair and Overhaul as director of technical process improvement. He retired from Garrett Aviation/AlliedSignal in 2005 after 26 years but continued to do consulting work for the company, developing engineering and quality procedures for manufacturing and maintainability processes on the TFE731, TPE331 and CFE738 engines and 36-series APUs. “I have known Hugh McElroy, president and CEO of Dallas Airmotive, for years and have a great deal of respect for him,” Subramaniam told AIN. “I share both his philosophy and vision for the company. We talked about what I could do for BBA and I’ll be evaluating existing processes using value stream analysis.” Subramaniam will work with all of BBA Aviation’s ERO companies–Dallas Airmotive, Premier Turbines and H+S Aviation–driving improvement in maintenance processes, developing technology for component repairs and optimizing technical procedures on the Honeywell product lines serviced by the ERO companies, including the TFE731, ALF502 and CFE738 engines and GTCP36 and 331-200/250-series APUs.
