Eaton Corporation has signed two new multi-million dollar contracts to produce aircraft hydraulic and fuel systems.
Bombardier selected the Irvine, California-based company to supply the hydraulic system for the new Learjet 85 model, and Sikorsky selected Eaton to supply the hydraulic and fuel systems and cockpit components (control panels and dimming controllers) for the new CH-53K heavy-lift U.S. Marine Corps helicopter.
The development phase of the CH-53K program will run through 2014, with Eaton providing the systems and components for between five and 10 shipsets, and a number of system test sets.
The company is also supplying hydraulic and fuel system component technology for the new Airbus A400M military airlifter, and it manufactures the three-phase electric motor pump that supplies auxiliary power at 5,000 psi to the Airbus A380’s hydraulic systems during ground operations and maintenance.
Last month Eaton also celebrated the first flight of the Lockheed Martin F-35B Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter, for which it is a major systems supplier.
