Asset buy boosts Let 410 production

Pamco Group member Aircraft Industries has acquired the assets of the Czech Republic’s Let and plans to boost production of the 19-seat Let 410UVP E20, the latest variant of the tried-and-tested design.

Since production of the Let 410 began in 1969, more than 1,100 examples have been built, including the Let 420 variant certified in North America. Participation on an international project ultimately proved unsuccessful, however, and resulted in the Czech company becoming insolvent.

One consequence of the company’s financial difficulties was the drop in the rate of production to no more than 10 examples per year. However, interest in the aircraft has not waned and the new owners plan to raise production to 16 next year, although this will only partially address the problem of long delivery dates.

Hence, Aircraft Industries is looking to recruit more personnel as part of a series of improvements to production methods, while other developments designed to enhance the appeal of the aircraft include a modernized cockpit and an increase
in power.
