A firm order for three 100-seat Embraer E190s from Finnair capped a brisk run of sales activity in the second half of February for the Brazilian airframe builder. The deal raises to 23 the number of E-Jets ordered by the Finnish flag carrier, which took delivery of its seventh E190 last month. It also flies ten 72-seat Embraer E170s.
All told over the last 10 days of February Embraer announced firm orders for 25 E-Jets from five customers, led by a deal for 10 E190s with Fort Lauderdale-based leasing company Jetscape. The others involved a commitment for six E190s from Australia’s Virgin Blue, an order for six more E170s from Egyptair and a contract with Air France subsidiary Régional for one E170 and a single E190. Earlier in the month Embraer logged a firm order from the principal investor in a new Spanish carrier, Universal Airlines, for six E195s in a high-density, 122-seat layout. It also added Air Moldova to its quickly expanding list of E-Jet operators with a firm order for a single E190.
