EFB provider now displays ADS-B data

AirGator, a provider of corporate and general aviation electronic flight bag (EFB) products, and NavWorx, a designer of automated dependent surveillance-broadcast (ADS-B) receiver technology, have teamed to integrate and display ADS-B data on AirGator NavPad EFBs.

AirGator is at Booth No. 1771 describing how the NavWorx Pads ADS-B receiver will operate on a bizjet flight deck with any one of AirGator’s three EFB models, which have screen sizes ranging  from five inches to 10.4 inches and flash-memory storage from eight gigabytes to 40 gigabytes.

“Adding ADS-B traffic information to our EFB greatly enhances a pilot’s situational awareness and increases safety,” “said Amir Tirosh, president of Mount Kisco, N.Y.-based AirGator.

“The collaboration with NavWorx Pads allows us to be at the forefront of the next generation of pilot safety and productivity enhancement,” he added.

The NavWorx PadsS600 receiver enables addition of ADS-B capability without high acquisition and installation costs. It plugs into an aircraft instrument panel power receptacle and will communicate with a NavPad EFB over either a wired or wireless connection. Suggested Pads receiver retail price is $1,495. NavWorx is also developing a line of certified receiver and transceiver units for permanent installations.
