KR Industrial Design & Consulting’s Aero iPad mount for Bombardier CRJs and Challengers received Transport Canada and FAA approval. The mount installs on the chart holder on the CRJ or Challenger in portrait orientation. KR is working on an upgrade with a rotation and tilt addition, and any qualified sheet metal mechanic will be able to install the new feature on existing units, according to Keith Rach, president of the company and designer of the mount. The Aero mount is priced at $1,500 per installation.

Embraer Executive Jets delivered the first of up to 125 “Signature Series” Phenom 300s to NetJets during a ceremony yesterday at the aircraft manufacturer’s Phenom assembly facility in Melbourne, Fla. In October 2010 NetJets placed a firm order for 50 of the specially outfitted light jets, with options for 75 more. Including all options, the order is worth more than $1 billion.

After more than three hours listening to nearly 100 comments from local residents and aviation advocates, members of the Santa Monica city council voted Tuesday night to adopt a resolution that will apply landing fees to all aircraft flying into Santa Monica Airport in Southern California, as well as more than double the fee for aircraft previously subject to the charge.

Aircraft operations in Indiana are about to become more affordable after state legislators approved a slate of aviation tax exemptions and restructurings. The measures, adopted at the urging of the Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association (AOPA) and other aviation groups, remove state sales tax on jet fuel and 100LL avgas and restructure the previously existing excise tax on aviation fuel to a fixed total state tax rate.

Jet Aviation has completed the refurbishment and expansion of its FBO at Geneva International Airport, Switzerland. The makeover is part of Jet Aviation’s brand redesign at the company’s worldwide FBO and MRO facilities. The newly refurbished Geneva FBO, which is nearly twice the size of the original at nearly 7,000 sq ft, is already welcoming customers and will be publicly unveiled at an opening celebration at EBACE this month. Jet Aviation Zurich will be the next FBO to be refurbished, with construction currently under way.

Conklin & de Decker released the 2013 edition of its Aircraft Cost Evaluator, which offers benchmarking, operating and ownership cost data to the business aviation industry. The evaluator provides aircraft owners, operators, brokers and dealers with side-by-side operating cost, specification and performance comparisons for some 550 business jets, turboprops, helicopters and piston aircraft. Newly added aircraft include the new Cessna Citation Sovereign, Cessna 208 Caravan EX and Eurocopter AS365N3+ and EC145T2.

XOJet appointed Shari Jones as its new senior vice president and chief marketing officer. Based at the company’s Bay Area headquarters, she will be responsible for the development of integrated brand strategies and their execution across the company’s product offerings and consumer communication channels. Jones will report directly to XOJet president and CEO Bradley Stewart. She comes from Levi Strauss, where she led consumer marketing for Levi’s and Dockers clothing in the Americas.

The Astronics Max-Viz-1500 enhanced vision system is now available as a factory option for new Bell 429s, as well as for retrofit installations in the light twin helicopter. According to the company, the system permits pilots to see farther than the unaided human eye while offering an added degree of safety and situational awareness in conditions with obscured vision. Retrofit installations will be done at the Bell Helicopter service facility in Piney Flats, Tenn.
