Engine conditioning monitoring program growing

 - September 29, 2006, 6:56 AM

Over the past 18 months, Jet-Care International has witnessed a dramatic upturn in its helicopter engine condition program as manufacturers and operators see the potential to diagnose a problem before it becomes an expensive maintenance issue.

The Cedar Knolls, N.J. company and Spectro, its sister company in the UK and Switzerland, regularly monitor the health of more than 13,000 engines. Recent additions to its customer base have included the Los Angeles County Fire Department; police departments in Anaheim, Calif., and Austin, Texas; Heavy Lift Helicopters; Rogers Helicopters; Era Aviation and Helicopters Italia, whose contracts total more than 400 Bell, Eurocopter and Sikorsky helicopters. Information about the engine condition monitoring program is available at the Jet-Care exhibit at Booth No. 1859.
