David Calvert-Jones was promoted to chief executive of Los Angeles-based Helinet Aviation Services. He was previously senior v-p of corporate strategy and most recently served as interim CEO.
Alexandria, Va.-based Flight Explorer named James Kelly president and CEO. Kelly, who was founder, president and CEO of SynXis, replaces Walt Kross.
Hugh McElroy was promoted to president and CEO of Dallas Airmotive. He was most recently v-p and general manager of the company’s Millville, N.J. facility.
Savannah Air Center announced three appointments. Jeff Zacharius has assumed the role of CEO, in addition to his duties as v-p. Jim Soleo was promoted to v-p and general manager. Hossein Motlagh was named operations manager and will continue to serve as chief engineer for certification and as on-site designated engineering representative.
Terry Cross joined Million Air as COO. He was previously v-p and representative to the board of directors for Epic Aviation.
Stevens Aviation named Ivan Wilson v-p of engineering and certification. He was most recently director of engineering for Bombardier Aviation Services.
Delray Beach, Fla.-based DayJet named Don Osmundson v-p of flight operations and Mark Reed v-p of maintenance operations. Osmundson joins the company from Comair and has served as an airline pilot for 35 years. Reed was most recently v-p of maintenance operations for NetJets.
Donald Baldwin, former chairman of NBAA, has formed Baldwin Aviation to provide small flight departments with cost-effective shared resources and services to enhance the aviation safety culture. Baldwin is serving as president and CEO of the Hilton Head, S.C.-based company. Anne Esposito joins the company as executive v-p with responsibilities for program implementation, logistics management and client relations. She was v-p of airports for the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.
Portland, Ore.-based Max-Viz named Lou Churchville v-p of sales. He began his commercial flying career as an agricultural pilot and later served as a corporate and charter pilot for Page Airways in Rochester, N.Y., and Washington, D.C.
Austin Klahn was named v-p and chief information officer for Jeppesen Technology Services. He was previously the chief technology officer for MapQuest.
Gerald Charland was named v-p of strategy and business development for Montreal-based CMC Electronics. He was most recently v-p of strategy and business development at Thales Aerospace.
Mineral Wells, Texas-based S-Tec named Larry Miller v-p of quality assurance. Miller joined the company from Delta Air Lines, where he was most recently general manager of engineering for the MD-88/90 fleet.
NetJets Aviation promoted Gary Strapp to senior v-p of aircraft programs to oversee development of partnerships between NetJets and OEMs. Strapp, who will continue to head the aircraft programs department, joined NetJets in 1989 and served as v-p of finance, v-p of administration and controller.
Denton, Texas-based Jet Works Air Center named Mark Hembree regional sales manager. He was previously associated with Executive Aircraft and Bombardier Aircraft in Wichita.
Lisa Sasse joined EVAS Worldwide as vice president. She was previously national account executive for Air Routing International and will continue to serve as a consultant to the company. The Air Routing office at Teterboro Airport will be shared between Air Routing and EVAS and will be staffed by personnel from both companies.
Lynwood, Wash.-based Crane Aerospace & Electronics, a segment of The Crane Co., named Dewey Turner III senior v-p of global sourcing and manufacturing for the aerospace group. He was most recently general manager of Precision Components International in Columbus, Ga.
Mark Ferrari was named v-p of sales and marketing for North American business aviation for the Nordam Group. Ferrari joins the company from Honeywell, where he was global director of aftermarket sales for its commercial electronics systems business.
Kathleen Tyler was named director of sales and marketing for Cincinnati-based Aviation Research Group/US (ARG/US). She previously worked at Executive Jet Management and managed an FBO in Cincinnati.
Todd Curtis joined Docherty Aviation, an aircraft consulting and brokerage firm. Curtis was previously business development, product and marketing manager at Honeywell, where he created new EGPWS safety systems for business aircraft and helicopters.
Englewood, Colo.-based Mayo Aviation promoted Jeff Rians to maintenance sales representative.
Francisco Diaz joined Houston-based Signature Plating as plating manager.
Sabreliner and its Midcoast Aviation subsidiary have announced several appointments. Tammy Gillette joins the company as training and development coordinator. She was previously employed by Elliott Aviation. Joe Thurman was named director of the Global 5000/XRS completion program. Kelly Sepe was promoted to manager of structural engineering. Pat Quinn was promoted to manager of certification/DAS administration. Michelle Averso joined the sales department of Midcoast as customer account manager. Mary Smith was named customer account manager. Alan Averso was named senior planner/scheduler.
