Wholly owned Boeing subsidiary Alteon Training has confirmed that it plans to place Boeing 787 training suites in Australia, India and Singapore, increasing to seven the number of its Dreamliner training locations. The U.S. firm previously confirmed Tokyo, Seattle, London-Gatwick and China.
All told, Alteon Training has ordered nine Boeing 787 training suites including full-flight and flat panel simulators, desktop simulation systems and door trainers. The new suites, supplied by Thales, will go into operation before the summer of 2008.
Alteon president Pat Gaines said the company remains “in the process” f deciding the locations of the final two training suites, as well as the specific sites for Australia, China and India. “Our priority is to help operators to reduce their training-related costs such as crew downtime, while increasing their efficiency by locating our training suites close to their base,” noted Gaines.
