Eurocopter and Hélicoptères Guimbal signed an agreement here at the Paris Air Show creating a company to develop, manufacture, market and support an unmanned version of Hélicoptères Guimbal’s two-seat Cabri G2 piston helicopter, which made its first flight on March 31 this year. Called Vertivision, the new company will work in conjunction with EADS DCS to develop the drone helicopter, which is expected to carry a payload of more than 330 pounds. Vertivision envisions military and civil applications for the drone. EADS DCS will develop the ground-support equipment for the unmanned aircraft. Bruno Guimbal created Hélicoptères Guimbal, located in Aix-en-Provence, France, in 2000 to develop and manufacture the Cabri G2.
