Bombardier Aerospace is negotiating to acquire a 234,000-sq-ft hangar at Tucson International Airport to expand its aircraft interior completions capacity. Bombardier’s Tucson site already handles completions for the Montreal-based company’s Global Express, Challenger 604 and Learjet family. The proposed acquisition will be needed, said a spokesman, to increase completions capacity as Bombardier’s newest business jet, the super-midsize Continental, begins to roll off the production line in Wichita late next year. Like the current Learjet line, the Continental will be assembled in Wichita and flown to Tucson for completion.
