French cabin electronics specialist PGA Avionics (Booth No. 1340) has developed an  on-demand audio/video entertainment system and delivered the first to the Airbus Corporate Jet Center in Toulouse for installation as part of  an executive/VIP cabin completion project. According to company president Jean-François Piaulet, the one gigabyte Ethernet-based system adds another element to the French company’s overall cabin electronics package.

The system is based on a server capable of holding up to 200 movies and the audio equivalent of 1,000 music CDs. It can distribute on-demand passenger requests to 20 users simultaneously. Additional servers can be added to the network, creating additional capacity.

On-demand is controlled by the crew through PGA’s cabin management system, or by passengers via individual touch-screens.

PGA’s cabin management system has been installed in more than 20 executive/VIP Airbus cabins, 60 Dassault Falcon Jets and a Boeing Business Jet. A decade after its creation, the company claims to offer a complete range of in-flight entertainment systems for private aircraft owners and operators. The Châteauroux-based firm recently moved to a 12,000-sq-ft headquarters adjacent to the airport.
