“Tool on Time” is exactly what it sounds like–a maintenance support program that will make maintenance tools and ground support equipment readily available. It is the latest offering from Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer and is intended to complement its spare parts pooling program to quickly provide parts and reduce the need for inventory investments.
As participants in the pool program, customers pay a given amount, based on the number of flight hours of the aircraft enrolled in the program. In return, Embraer assumes responsibility for maintaining a parts inventory at its distribution and service centers in order to provide parts on a timely basis.
“The Tool on Time service is a natural improvement of our spare parts pooling program strategy,” said services sales and contracts senior manager Johan Bourdais.
