Independent maintenance provider Global Aviation of Hillsboro, Ore., has promoted Brian Lockhart to vice president. Lockhart has worked for Global Aviation for 13 years, most recently as director of maintenance for the company, which offers maintenance, charter/management and FBO services at Portland-Hillsboro Airport. Lockhart studied for his FAA airframe and powerplant mechanic certificate at Sacramento City College and subsequently added the inspection authorization. Before helping establish Global Aviation as a consultant in 1995 and then joining the company full-time in 1997, Lockhart worked for more than 10 years at Louisiana Pacific’s flight department and eight years at a private aviation company in Hillsboro. Under Lockhart’s direction, Global Aviation’s maintenance department has grown to 50 employees, up from two, and has added authorization as a Bombardier line maintenance/AOG facility and Rockwell Collins and Universal Avionics dealership. In his spare time, Lockhart plays the bagpipes and restores and flies vintage airplanes, including his current project, a 1947 Stinson Voyager.
