LHT kit allows cabins to be quick changeable

Lufthansa Technik’s new VIP cabin quick-change kit allows operators to switch a narrowbody commercial airline interior to VIP configuration overnight. The kit eliminates the need for an operator to maintain a VIP aircraft permanently in that configuration, adding the flexibility to fly commercial passengers then quickly switch to a customized VIP interior.

The changeable interior is designed and built by Lufthansa Technik (Booth No. 343), which then provides a conversion kit to the customer as well as a detailed manual on how to accomplish the switch from one configuration to the other. Any Part 145 repair station can perform the switch.

Lufthansa Technik can make the conversion kit work on the airplane’s existing seat tracks and offers a variety of cabin layouts, seating options, colors and surfaces; an optional in-flight entertainment is also available.

Since announcing its new Mobile Aircraft and Cabin Services (MACS) team last November, Lufthansa Technik has completed several maintenance events for business jet customers, including a six- and a nine-month check on an Airbus A318 Elite for Royal Flight of Jordan.

The MACS team can perform small scheduled maintenance items and fix wear-and-tear items efficiently at the operator’s home base. The customer’s technicians can also work with the MACS team, which enhances technician training and offers the operator the opportunity to save money on maintenance costs.
