Air Methods Wins EC145 Med Completion Contract
Air Methods, a major global medical transportation company, recently announced that its United Rotorcraft division has been awarded a contract by OSF Aviation of Peoria, Ill., to complete OSF’s four new Eurocopter EC145s.
The medical interior design of the four EC145s will include several new features, including a next-generation, machined aluminum floor that will address previous problems of maintenance accessibility, re-configuration flexibility, fluid containment and ease of cleaning.
The medical cabin will also include multi-configurable recessed window well mounts for medical support equipment. The mounts will also allow low-profile storage and enhanced visibility.
The cockpit will receive considerable upgrade equipment, including Waas, ADS-B and StormScope. United Rotorcraft of Decatur, Texas, also designs, engineers, manufactures and certifies medical interiors for the EC135, EC130, AS350, and the Bell 407 and Bell 429 helicopter airframes.
