Bombardier Sets Up Shop in China, Mideast

Bombardier Aerospace is rapidly expanding its presence in the emerging aviation markets in Asia and the Middle East. Today, the company inaugurated its new office in Shanghai, which is now home to the Bombardier Commercial Aircraft teams working with the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (Comac), Bombardier Aerospace’s supply chain organization in China and the company’s commercial aircraft sales and marketing team for China and North Asia.

The Shanghai office will also support personnel for Bombardier’s Learjet, Challenger and Global business jets. This new office adds to the company’s existing presence in China, which includes a Bombardier Business Aircraft sales team based in Beijing and parts depots in Beijing and Hong Kong.

Meanwhile, the Canadian aircraft manufacturer recently set up its Middle East business aircraft sales operations at the Dubai Airport Freezone, a free-trade zone that sits at the crossroads of Europe, Asia and Africa. “The Freezone’s unique geographical advantage, together with superior facilities and amenities, has made this an ideal location for Bombardier’s new business aircraft sales office,” said Bombardier Business Aircraft regional vice president of Middle East, India and Africa sales Khader Mattar. “This expanded presence in the region supports the increase of our market share in the Middle East and will help us be closer to our clients.”
