The investigation will now begin to find out why pilots of the Sukhoi SuperJet 100-95, which crashed last week just 20 minutes after takeoff from Jakarta, requested a descent to 6,000 feet in the mountainous region of West Java, Indonesia.
The peak of Mount Salak, in the area where the aircraft wreckage was located, is 7,254 feet. All 45 people on board the demonstration, the flight crew, Russian Embassy officials, journalists and potential buyers, were killed in the accident. Inclement weather hamperred the initial search efforts.
The Sukhoi Superjet 100 entered service in April 2011.
