The FAA this week opened a new website offering a parent toolkit that promotes the idea that kids on airplanes belong buckled into an approved child safety seat, not sitting on their parent’s lap.

In the event of sudden turbulence or during a rough landing, holding on to an infant can be impossible. The site offers parents tips on choosing the appropriate seat, as well as a guide to correctly installing the device on any aircraft.
