Ocean Sky's Charter and Management Divisions Face Liquidation

September 6, 2012, 1:34 PM

A September 7 creditors meeting is expected to appoint liquidators to handle the assets of the UK-based Ocean Sky group’s aircraft charter, management and brokering divisions. According to financial group Duff & Phelps, which says it is expecting to be appointed as liquidator, the meeting has been called by Ocean Sky director Oliver Ripley and will be held in Manchester, UK.

In a September 6 statement, Duff & Phelps said that Ocean Sky Aviation Ltd, Ocean Sky Aircraft Charter Ltd and Ocean Sky Aircraft Management Ltd all ceased trading on August 21 and are now insolvent and unable to pay their debts.

As of press time, representatives of the Ocean Sky parent group had not responded to repeated requests for comment. A spokeswoman for Duff & Phelps told AIN that Ocean Sky’s FBOs at London Luton, Manchester and Prestwick airports are not involved in the pending liquidation.
