Alpa Wants Better Aircraft Tracking Technology

The Air Line Pilots Association said in an April 4 statement that it “is unacceptable that the location of the aircraft [MH370] is unknown. Implementation of technology such as ADS-B and use of satellite surveillance of aircraft during flight operations must become the standard across the industry.” The union also urged the industry to demand “better battery technology in emergency locator transmitters that will provide more accurate location information for a longer duration after an accident has occurred.” Read the latest on the search for MH370.
