With just two months before the 11th annual LABACE is held at São Paulo Congonhas Airport, Brazil, exhibitors gathered at organizer Associação Brasileira de Aviação Geral (Abag) last week to draw spaces in the remodeled exhibit area. “We’re working with the expectation that the fair will be smaller this year than in 2013, which was smaller than in 2012,” said Abag executive director Ricardo Nogueira. “If it’s bigger, it will be only slightly bigger,” he continued, citing a weaker year for business aviation, but also acknowledging the late start in registration, which opened just two weeks ago.
The hangar that usually houses exhibit booths is only partly available this year. Abag has instead rented a large tent that will be positioned at the venue entrance, so that all LABACE 2014 visitors must go through the booth area to get to the static display area. However, the tent will have less space than the previously used hangar.
The Congonhas area that hosts LABACE will receive World Cup delegations over the coming weeks, and Nogueira said the exhibit area won’t be free until after July 14.
