The NBAA/Corporate Angel Network (CAN) soirée committee announced today that a private concert by legendary band Three Dog Night will be the capstone to this year’s Soirée. This year’s event to benefit CAN, the industry charity that arranges for cancer patients to fly to treatment in empty seats on business aircraft, will be held Wednesday, October 22, at the Hyatt Regency Orlando Ballroom as part of the 2014 NBAA Convention.
Besides the concert from the band, whose hits include “Mama Told Me,” “Shambala” and “Try a Little Tenderness,” the event will again feature silent and live auctions–the latter headed by auctioneer Spanky Assiter–as well as a cocktail networking hour and a dinner. The funds from these auctions will help CAN to continue transporting cancer patients to specialized and lifesaving treatment. CAN coordinates 250 patient flights each month and has arranged more than 45,000 flights since it was founded in 1981.
At last year’s event in Las Vegas, the silent and live auctions raised nearly $440,000 for the organization. NBAA has set up a dedicated web page to register for the event, purchase tables and/or to donate auction items.
