Bombardier Aerospace announced on June 12 that the Challenger 350 received Transport Canada approval, with FAA certification expected “shortly.” An upgrade of the Challenger 300, the 350 has a new wing with canted winglets, a higher mtow of 40,600 pounds and greater fuel capacity for an NBAA IFR range of 3,200 nm versus its predecessor’s 3,065nm.
The Challenger 350’s two Honeywell HTF7350 engines produce 7,323 pounds of thrust each, about 500 pounds more thrust than the HTF7000s on the Challenger 300. It also features a new interior that lets even more natural light into the cabin thanks to 20-percent-larger windows. On the Challenger 350’s flight deck is the Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 avionicssuite.
NetJets is the launch customer for the new $25.8 million twinjet, $1 million more than the 300, which Bombardier will continue to offer. First deliveries of the new Challenger to the U.S. fractional provider are scheduled to begin immediately following FAAapproval.
