CAE Launches Phenom 100 Simulator
Using LABACE as its launch pad, CAE Latin America inaugurated its Latin American Training Center yesterday near São Paulo Guarulhos International Airport, with the unveiling of the first business jet simulator in South America. The new simulator was certified by ANAC on July 31 and training will begin this month.
The level-D Phenom 100/300 flight simulator is one of four produced by Embraer CAE Training Services, a joint venture of Brazilian OEM Embraer and Canadian training provider CAE.
“The 90 Phenoms already in service in Brazil are enough to support a simulator, and the simulator being here will propel additional sales,” said Embraer Executive Jets president of operations Marco Túlio Pellegrini.
CAE has already certified three multilingual instructors on the Phenom 100/300 simulator, with two more on track to be certified, and the provider can train pilots in English, Spanish or Portuguese. Some instructors are certified by both Brazilian civil aviation agency (ANAC) and the FAA, so the new simulator may draw American students when peak demand overfills available time on its cousins in Dallas.
The Embraer/CAE joint venture is limited to the Phenom family and does not include the Lineage, the existing Legacy line or the coming Legacy 450 and 550.
