Bizav Veteran Bill Boisture Joins Carlyle

Former Gulfstream and NetJets Aviation executive Bill Boisture has resurfaced at Washington, D.C.-based private equity firm The Carlyle Group as a senior advisor to the aerospace and defense team. In this role, Boisture, 60, will identify promising investments in the aerospace, defense and business services sectors and will provide management, industry and marketing guidance to existing portfolio companies. Carlyle’s business aviation investments include parts distributor Aviall (acquisition by Boeing pending) and Landmark Aviation, a conglomerate created by the 2004 merger of maintenance provider Garrett Aviation, FBO chain Piedmont Hawthorne and completions firm Associated Air Center. Boisture, a former fighter pilot, is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy Fighter Weapons (Top Gun) schools
