Landmark Aviation Consolidating Services
To address what it says is a “decrease in volume of avionics work and to align with the market,” Landmark Aviation is consolidating avionics installations and aircraft painting from its Los Angeles, Houston and Augusta, Ga. locations to the company’s Springfield, Ill. facility. Aircraft refurbishment also will be done at Springfield. The Los Angeles, Houston and Augusta facilities will now focus on airframe and engine MRO work. Landmark’s so-called MRO “lite” sites at Roanoke, Leesburg and Norfolk, Va., and Winston-Salem, and Greensboro, N.C., “will continue to provide the same level of avionics installations and service.” According to an internal company memo, “Over the past several months, Landmark’s leadership team has carefully reviewed the business…with the intent of driving the greatest alignment to the market. This began last fall with the MRO consolidation of engine work into Centers of Excellence.” Landmark Aviation is the company that resulted from the merging of Garrett Aviation, Piedmont Hawthorne and Associated Air Center.
