Embraer is extending the $2.75 million introductory price to May 31 for the Phenom 100, its offering in the growing very light jet segment. The price of the eight-seat, 1,160-nm (four occupants) Phenom 100 increases to $2.85 million on June 1. First flight is scheduled for the first quarter of next year, with entry into service expected in mid-2008. Embraer’s $6.65 million, nine-passenger Phenom 300 light jet is planned to enter service in mid-2009. Both new jets will be powered by Pratt & Whitney Canada engines. The company said market response to the Phenom 100 and 300 has “surpassed our expectations,” but declined to provide order numbers. However, a spokeswoman said the next available delivery slot for the VLJ is May 2010 and late 2009 for the light jet. Meanwhile, mockups of both aircraft will begin a European tour at the European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition in Geneva May 3 to 5.
