Raytheon Aircraft has joined Gulfstream Aerospace as the only major business aircraft OEMs to elevate the head of product support to the presidential level. Last Friday, the Wichita-based manufacturer announced to its employees the appointment of Randy Groom as president of global customer service and support. Ed Dolanski, who had handled aftermarket services as v-p of customer support for the past five years, has left Raytheon Aircraft to take a “key position” with another Raytheon subsidiary. Groom joined Raytheon Aircraft in 2003 as president and general manager of its Beechcraft division, which consists of the Bonanza, Baron and Premier lines. Meanwhile, Brad Hatt, who was president and general manager of the Hawker division, is now president of global sales for both the Beechcraft and Hawker divisions. In AIN’s 2005 Product Support Survey, operators of Raytheon aircraft rated Beechcraft support higher overall than Hawker support.
