Cessna received FAA type certification of its Model 525, the CJ2+, bringing the light jet another step closer to customer deliveries scheduled to start in the second quarter of next year. The CJ2+, announced at the 2004 NBAA Convention, is an upgraded CJ2, featuring Williams International FJ44-3A-24 turbofan engines and greater payload capability, higher maximum cruise speed, more range and improved runway performance than its successor. According to Cessna, 17 of the "most popular" [avionics] options not available on the CJ2 are standard on the CJ2+. New standard items include 110-volt electrical outlets, belted flushing toilet, left-side storage and indirect LED lighting. The $5.5 million twinjet also features an enhanced version of the Collins Pro Line 21 avionics system. With approximately 60 orders in hand, a CJ2+ ordered today wouldn't be available for delivery until the second quarter of 2007.
