Dallas Airmotive Expanding Turbine Maintenance Network
BBA Aviation-owned engine repair and overhaul company Dallas Airmotive plans to open a regional turbine center next month at the Washington County Airport just south of Pittsburgh. The 5,300-sq-ft facility initially will provide hot-section inspection services for Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A turboprops and JT15D turbofans, as well as fan repairs on JT15Ds and power-section repair on PT6As. According to Dallas Airmotive, the new center will also offer field service support for aircraft operating these engines, in addition to the P&WC PW300 and PW500. Managing the shop will be Jason Chambers, a four-year veteran of Dallas Airmotive who has been working in the company’s field service organization in Pennsylvania. The new facility will be Dallas Airmotive’s 10th regional turbine center in North America and Europe. The company’s turbine center network offers quick-turn repair and inspection services for several business aircraft engines, including the Honeywell TFE731; P&WC PT6A, JT15D, PW500 and PW300; and Rolls-Royce 250. Most of Dallas Airmotive’s facilities are located on airports to facilitate fly-in service.
