Having revealed plans for fleet expansion and a southeast Asia office at EBACE yesterday, local operator VistaJet completed the picture today with an announced firm order for 35 Bombardier business jets. In a purchase plan potentially worth a claimed $1.2 billion, the Swiss company is to buy 11 Challengers 605s, 13 Learjet 60XRs and 11 Learjet 85s. It also has taken options on a further 10 Challenger 605s, seven more Learjet 60XRs and eight Learjet 85s. If those orders are confirmed, the VistaJet fleet would expand from today’s 14 aircraft to 34 after the delivery of 20 previously ordered aircraft and to 94 machines by 2012. What’s more, the two companies announced a memorandum of understanding under which VistaJet will buy the Canadian manufacturer’s Skyjet International charter program. Bombardier Business Aircraft senior vice president of sales Bob Horner said the order proves the company is “offering the most innovative aircraft and widest range of travel ‘solutions.’”
