MRO operator West Star Aviation has added a mobile support team (MST) at its facility on Dallas Love Field. According to Sam Haycraft, executive v-p of operations, all of the maintenance personnel at that facility are available to be deployed depending upon the type of aircraft. “We have a dedicated van that the team uses to transport the necessary parts for an assignment. They talk to the customer and, based on the description of the problem, the team loads the appropriate parts and equipment,” Haycraft told AIN. “We’re doing two to three offsite locations a week, and about half our work is AOG related and half assisting customers with in-house inspections.” The van is also stocked with test equipment and the team can do light maintenance and inspections as well as engine changes. The company works on Hawkers, Citations, Learjets, King Airs, Conquests and Falcons, and if needed can draw on technical expertise from West Star Aviation’s other locations in East Alton, Ill.; Grand Junction and Aspen, Colo.; and Columbia, S.C.
