Hawker 800XPR Mod Receives FAA Approval

Hawker Beechcraft (HBC) Global Customer Support has received FAA supplemental type certification for the Hawker 800XPR modification. The 800XPR features more powerful Honeywell TFE731-50R engines and HBC-designed winglets. For customers seeking panel upgrades, new Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 avionics will be available. Customers can also upgrade paint and interior, working with the HBC service center that does the installation. The TFE731-50R engines replace -5Rs and feature a new wide-chord fan, single-crystal turbine blades, improved blade and vane cooling, compressor improvements and a new N1 digital electronic engine control. The 5,000-pound-thrust engine is flat-rated to 4,660 pounds, delivering 7-percent lower specific fuel consumption and longer maintenance intervals (3,000-hour MPI, 6,000-hour CZI), lowering MSP costs by 32 percent and carbon smoke number by 72 percent. The winglets add more than 100 nm of range and reduce time to climb by 5 percent. Combined with the engine mod, this allows a max-weight direct climb to FL410 in 25 minutes, 2,800-nm range and improved takeoff field length. The first customer delivery to Denmark’s JoinJet, which provided the Hawker 800 used for certification, is expected next month.
