Two Avantair pilots and two passengers suffered only minor injuries when their Piaggio Avanti P.180 went off the west side of Runway 18 and flipped over while landing at Flint (Mich.) Bishop International Airport last Wednesday. An ATC tower recording indicates that the pilot declared an emergency because of an engine failure while on approach to the airport. The aircraft was destroyed in the accident.

This is very sad and I'm glad that nobody died, but unfortunately I'm not really surprised that this happen at all and frankly I'm really surprised that this company is still in business, I used to work for them years ago and their maintenance and pilot training is terrible and I'm sure it hasn't got any better, I would stay away from Avantair at all cost and keep your loved ones safe!
