FltPlan’s free Go mobile device app is now available for Android devices. The app is designed to work with a user’s existing free FltPlan account, but the app delivers most of the website’s functionality and additional features such as geo-referenced approach and taxi charts and a moving map.

Like Go for the iPad, the Android version includes graphical flight planning, navlogs, approach plates, weather briefings, the FAA’s new high-resolution charts (sectional, en route low- and high-altitude), and satellite, street, shaded relief and topographic base maps. FltPlan tools such as flight tracking, checklists, weight-and-balance, runway wind calculator and temperature conversion are also available on the app.

Moving maps are offered for the U.S., Canada, the Caribbean and Central America, although geo-referenced approach charts are available only for the U.S. and Canada. Other products on Go include the U.S. airport/facilities directory, Canadian flight supplement, helicopter routes, terminal VFR charts, special-use airspace, FBO and airport information with current fuel prices, document storage and multiple binders, annotations, scratchpad function and downloadable world map.
