GAMA: Business Jet Rally Continues in Second Quarter
Business jet manufacturers saw a better than 12-percent jump in first-half global deliveries year over year, with 318 private jets handed over during the first six months, according to statistics released today by the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA).
Much of this increase was fueled by Cessna, which delivered 71 private jets in the first half of the year, a 36.5-percent rise over the same period last year. The Textron Aviation subsidiary was buoyed by recent certifications on its Citation M2, Sovereign+ and X+ models. Embraer and Gulfstream also saw better than 18-percent year-over-year increases in the first half, while Dassault and Bombardier delivered four and three fewer jets, respectively.
The pressurized turboprop segment remained virtually static, with just one more aircraft delivery in the first half of this year than it had in the first six months of 2013.
