In October, PremiAir will move into a newly refurbished hangar at Oxford Airport near London. PremiAir announced in May a plan to move its fixed-wing maintenance base from company headquarters at Blackbushe Airport in Surrey to Oxford because of lack of growth capacity at Blackbushe and the airport’s relatively short runway. PremiAir will continue building its helicopter maintenance business at Blackbushe, making that facility the company’s dedicated rotary-wing maintenance base. The refurbished 20,000-sq-ft hangar at Oxford, the product of a nearly $2 million investment, features new workshops, customer reception areas and office space. PremiAir plans to add 15 new technician jobs at the new Oxford facility. “Oxford Airport is revitalized with new ownership,” said group managing director David McRobert. “It’s a great central location for us as a maintenance center with a terrific catchment area for attracting both new business, as well as the number of high-quality licensed aircraft engineers we will need to expand our services.”
