Aircraft maintenance training provider Global Jet Services has launched its first online training course for maintenance technicians. The course teaches technicians the fundamentals of pitot-static systems and how to use Barfield’s 450 pitot-static test equipment to conduct static/altimeter system tests. It also shows students how to set up the test equipment based on step-by-step procedures, according to Global Jet. Students can access the course from any location and they can also earn eight hours credit for Inspection Authorization recurrency and for the FAA AMT Awards training program. Global Jet tracks student training, including completion and training history, using a learning management system, which is compliant with FAA Advisory Circular 145-10 repair station training programs. New courses that Global Jet plans to offer online in the first quarter next year include human factors awareness and aircraft electronics technician training, which serves as both a fundamental avionics training course and preparation for the NCATT AET exams.
