Tulsa, Okla.-based BizJet International has delivered its first Airbus A318 Elite. The aircraft, which is provided with an FAA and EASA supplemental type certificate, was outfitted with a VIP cabin interior during its seven-month completion. Work on the second of a total of eight Airbus A318 Elites contracted so far by BizJet started this month. Six more A318 Elites will be delivered to Airbus by the end of 2013. At its Hamburg site Lufthansa Technik has already outfitted and delivered nine A318 Elites. After the completion of the 10th aircraft, which is expected to begin at the end of this month, the program will expire in Hamburg in mid-2010. All subsequent completions of this aircraft type will then be done at BizJet in Tulsa. The company has invested about $3 million in infrastructure expansion to support the program.
