FlightSafety International will build a training center in Wichita, Kan. to support the new MX Advantage maintenance training program it has developed in conjunction with Cessna. The 65,000-sq-ft building will be located adjacent to the Cessna Aircraft facility. Construction is scheduled to begin later this year and expected to be completed by the end of next year. According to a Cessna spokesman, the new facility will feature advanced technology-equipped classrooms, hands-on aircraft component training areas, including a hangar that can accommodate up to four Cessna aircraft, and customer service areas. A ramp leading from the runway to the new facility will provide direct access to aircraft for training purposes. “The MX Advantage maintenance training program and facility reflects our common commitment to enhancing safety,” said Bruce Whitman, FlightSafety president & CEO. The company has been a Cessna authorized pilot and maintenance training provider for all new aircraft purchases for more than 30 years.
