Sabreliner will create approximately 400 new jobs over the next four years as it expands its operations. The company has broken ground for a 27,000-sq-ft aircraft stripping and paint facility in Perryville, Mo., that will enable it to accommodate more customers and aircraft up to the size of the large-cabin Gulfstreams. The company plans to continue to provide inspection and rehabilitation services for military and commercial jets, propeller-driven aircraft and helicopters. The new facility is expected to be complete by the middle of next year. According to Jim Meier, the company's senior v-p, the expanded stripping and painting operation is only one facet of the company's overall expansion plans. "In addition to the new jobs those operations will generate, we anticipate adding engineers, finance specialists and aircraft mechanics. A well trained and well paid workforce is part of our competitive advantage at Sabreliner," Meier said.
