To support OEMs, customers and partners in China, Rockwell Collins has opened a new China System Support Center (CSSC) in Shanghai. The CSSC is located in an existing Rockwell Collins facility in Shanghai, which is the companyπs third Shanghai facility and its fifth China location. According to Rockwell Collins, ≥The CSSC offers original equipment manufacturer [OEM] on-site engineering support, fundamental and advanced engineering and program management training at customer-preferred locations, overall system integration support and avionics system consulting to customers and partners in China.≤ The CSSC will ≥work with customers on identifying and adopting best operational practices and whatπs needed to meet future airspace requirements,≤ said Greg Churchill, executive vice president for international and service solutions, at a ceremony celebrating the opening of the CSSC yesterday. Last year Rockwell Collins, which plans to expand its China investments and number of employees, was selected by Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China for communication, navigation, surveillance, cabin management, in-flight entertainment and simulator components for the new C919 single-aisle airliner.
