PAMA Calls for Symposium Presentations
The Professional Aviation Maintenance Association is soliciting presentation proposals for its 2011 Great Lakes Airworthiness Symposium in Dayton, Ohio, to be held September 29 and 30. The symposium will open with a full day of seminars followed by a welcome reception and a second day of seminars. This year’s theme is “Taking aviation maintenance to the next level in 2011 and creating leaders for the future.” Dale Forton, PAMA’s newly hired president, said the regional symposium format has replaced the association’s annual convention. “Our chapters offer IA renewal seminars all over the country and do a great job at it. We’ve enhanced the symposium format to complement them by offering more management, safety and human resources training,” Forton told AIN. “The symposiums are designed around the ends and goals of lifelong learning, safety and industry recognition. Keeping them in mind helps our members develop into the best possible professionals they can be,” he said. Forton said the organization is planning to hold both spring and fall symposiums next year. “We’re currently working with our Southern California chapter to hold one there in the spring,” he said.
