Dynetics, WestWind Technologies Form Support Alliance
Dynetics and WestWind Technologies have entered into a joint venture creating Aviation Support Alliance. ASA, which brings together engineering, manufacturing and logistics expertise for aviation customers, has targeted a Department of the Army contract for the Logistics Support Facility Management Activity. The LSFMA program is designed to provide the Army with low-cost, rapid responses to meet the changing requirements for improvements and mission support of the Army aviation fleet. Dynetics is an engineering company specializing in technical and initial design prototype aircraft performance issues; WestWind Technologies does aircraft modifications. “Aviation Support Alliance falls under the government definition of a small business and the LSFMA contract is a small business set aside program,” Phil Freeze, program manager of LSFMA for Dynetics, told AIN. “The contract calls for the modification of Army aircraft with radio, emergency hoist and other types of upgrades. The Army wants a company that can accomplish design and development rapidly to meet demand. This is a five-year contract that will include on-going evaluation of the Army’s needs and requirements,” Freeze said.
