Cayman Islands civil aviation authorities have approved ExecuJet Malaysia to provide maintenance for Cayman-registered aircraft under OTAR Part 145 Option 2 rules. According to Graeme Duckworth, ExecuJet’s managing director for Asia, the move is significant because there are growing numbers of Cayman-registered business aircraft across Southeast Asia. The initial approval covers the Bombardier Global Express series, as well as Challenger 300s, Challenger 604/605s and Gulfstream IV/IV-SPs. It complements existing approvals from authorities in Malaysia itself, the Philippines and the Isle of Man. In 2010, Bombardier appointed ExecuJet Malaysia, a subsidiary of ExecuJet Asia, as an authorized service facility.
