AeroMechanical Services, operating as Flyht, will provide NetJets Europe with the automated flight information reporting system (Afirs) and services for 30 Hawker Beechcraft 750/800XPs.

Thomas French, Aeromechanical Services’ CFO, told AIN, “We’ve been dealing with smaller groups, primarily regional carriers, specialty carriers and cargo operators with 30 or fewer aircraft. This places the technology we’ve developed over the years with a major player and takes us into another level.”

According to French, the two have engaged in a collaborative in-service evaluation of the Afirs 220, its fuel initiative reporting system tracker and FlyhtStream programs over the past two-and-a-half years. During that time they obtained an EASA STC for the Afirs 220 that is applicable to the Hawker 750, 800XP and 900XP.

The initial installations will consist of the next-generation Afirs 228B, which will be updated to the Afirs 228U to comply with Europe’s new ATC regulations (Link 2000+) for protected mode controller pilot datalink communication (PM CPDLC). The five-year contract is estimated to be worth more than $6 million excluding optional upgrades and services.
