Hawker Beechcraft Global Customer Support (GCS) has named Horizontal De Aviación at Aeropuerto Internacional el Dorado in Bogotá, Colombia, an authorized service center to support the Beechcraft King Air line. “The Colombian aviation market is one of the fastest growing Beechcraft aviation segments in Latin America,” said Christi Tannahill, Hawker Beechcraft senior vice president of Global Customer Support.

Tannahill told AIN that nearly 100 of the approximately 800 HBC jets and turboprops in the region are in Colombia. According to Tannahill, the 23-year-old MRO has been providing private, civil, military and state government aircraft operators with maintenance for the Beechcraft King Air 90/200/300 series.

In addition to approval as a maintenance organization by the Colombian Civil Aviation Authority, the MRO is an FAA-approved repair station with a 52,000-sq-ft facility that offers paint, work platforms, customer areas and classrooms. Support shop capabilities include sheet metal, electrical, hydraulics, instruments, avionics, non-destructive testing, power plant and dynamic components.

The company also holds approvals from authorities in Mexico, Venezuela, Peru and Panama.
